Front Wars is a turn-based strategy game. Take control of allied troops and revive the great battles of the second world war in a tense campaign against the german army. You can challenge your friends online on Facebook, Gamecenter or by the passing the device.

The two armies take turns building and commanding units on a grid-based map. The objective is to defeat the enemy army. There are two ways to defeat an opponent: destroy every one of the opponents units on the map or capture the opponents headquarters. The terrain on a map affects unit range of movements and the defense attributes of units stationed in that terrain. Capturing cities and enemy buildings will give the player new fundings at the beginning of each turn, with which the player can create a variety of new units (soldiers, tanks, planes, ships...) to gain power over his opponent.

Reminds me of advanced wars. Some of the later levels get quite tricky. Great app!

As I expected this "homage" to Advance Wars is loaded with bugs and design oversights, which will hopefully be fixed by the author in future patches. Mechanics seem to be in place, just needs that extra coat of polish that makes a game professional. In time this app could very well replicate the greatness of that series. I spent my $3 giving this app a chance to hopefully send a message to Nintendo and Intelligent Systems: that gamers want this game on their Apple products! If a near perfect port of a 13 year old GBA game finds its way to the app store I would gladly pay $20 for it. If its by Nintendo or IS Ill pay even more! Just raising my voice as a consumer. For the author, solid effort man. Please keep polishing this game and people will pay attention to it.

Remains me "advance wars" but in a wwII scenario. Great game overall... Fully recommended!!

Very nice game but it has some problems. When I open it the orientation of the image is reversed. Even if I change my iPad orientation it just rotate again, eventually, sometimes I can play it. We should be able to disable attack animations.

Some bad moments

This game doesnt start on my iPad 2 (iOS 6.1.3), iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1.3) and iPod Touch 5 (iOS 6.1) Please fix it.

On level seven by them time you start to get the upper hand the AI player gets stuck making its next move. It happens over and over and I can only get to the same point. I wish there was a fast forward button for when the AI player is making its move. Not a bad game otherwise but is very frustrating when it doesnt work.

This is a fun game with a lot of potential for replayability except for the fact that the pinch to zoom does not work after a while. It makes is very difficult to control the play action as the boards are too large and the pieces are microscopic. Unless this is fixed, there are other similar games that are both less expensive and more playable.

If you like either a good turn based WWII or advanced war games this game is meant for you. The only thing I wish the developer could do is add more countrys to play as like Italy, England, Japan and soviet Russia.

Loved Advance Wars and have been looking for a similar game since I first got my iPhone (then iPad). Mecho Wars, while the gameplay is spot on, I find the characters and styling confusing and it was frustrating for me trying to tell my troops apart. I need tanks, soldiers, helicopters, etc. I just purchased Front Wars and this seems to have exactly what I want, military stylings with AW gameplay. My biggest frustration, however, is that the game is woefully buggy. I couldnt even finish the first mission. I got the "could not locate unit 0" error. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Second is, the dialog boxes in the tutorial run off the screen or cover over the characters below obscuring what you are supposed to be looking at. Im hoping that these are version 1.0 issues that will be worked out as the game seems to have great potential. As of this moment, however, I can not recommend that anyone purchase it. Once these issues are fixed I will gladly do so. Fix the bugs and Ill give 4-5 stars.

Great game very cool so much fun and extremely addicting. Sadly the unity engine once agains bugs the game making irritating play ------- .If you leave the game it freezes when you come back .Cant move units on the Berlin mission .Freezes a lot ----------------- add- more units more missions single player game play map building sandbox mode
